A Fitting Year For SnowFest

Greetings –

The last few days have treated us with crisp blue skies, plentiful sunshine and some of the best ski conditions I have experienced. The Sierra snowpack in Northern California is at 161% of average for this time of year and looks like it will continue to grow with another storm lined up for this weekend. Did I forget to mention that we just entered into Miracle March which has historically produced record snowfall in the past.

We certainly couldn’t have a more fitting year for one of the greatest traditions in Tahoe with the Annual Snow Festival. SnowFest 2017 kicks off its 36th annual community event tonight with the famous Wet Woody drink and music from Groove Foundry at Garwoods from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. If you’ve yet to see the snow sculpture contest be sure to put it on your calendar for Sunday March 12th from 11:30-3pm at the River Ranch. This Saturday is packed full of events starting with the North Tahoe Firefighter’s pancake breakfast located at the Tahoe City Firehouse starting at 7 am. The Snow Fest parade will start at 11:30 am in Tahoe City with the day culminating at 2:30 pm at Garwoods with the Great Polar Bear Swim.
