Greetings –
I had the pleasure of visiting Clear Creek Tahoe yesterday and wanted to share some insight on a beautiful development that is starting to find it’s footing in the market place. Located on 1,576 acres and surrounded by the largest natural forest in the lower 48, Clear Creek is located on the Eastern Slope of the Carson Range of the Sierra Nevada Mountains between Lake Tahoe and Carson City. You will enjoy 800 plus acres of forest that has been placed into a permanent conservation easement with The Nature Conservancy. Just a quick 40 minute drive from the International airport in Reno and you will find yourself just off highway 50 halfway between Spooner Summit and US 395 with incredible mountain and valley views. If you are familiar with private golf clubs, I envision Clear Creek as a combination of Martis Camp level service, with the understated feel of historic clubs such as Cypress Point and San Francisco Golf Club. There is a certain rawness to the land and that is exactly why the developer chose Coore & Crenshaw to design the 18 hole championship course that feels as if it was dropped in from the sky overlaying the natural topography. Clear Creek feels like you are going back in time to the days of summer camp as a child with all the fun conveniences of South Lake Tahoe at your fingertips. The amenities will include: Family Swim & Tennis Center, Clubhouse, Golf Shop, Spa & Fitness, Golf Practice facilities, 18 hole private golf course and three hiking trails – two offering mountain bike access and one equestrian use that connects to the famous Tahoe Rim Trail. The amenities are rounded out with fly fishing at Twin Pines Lake and a lake house with 180 feet of sandy beach on Lake Tahoe, only 4 blocks from the gondola at Heavenly. With 268 homesites, 98 Mountain Cottages and 18 Mountain Lodges, Clear Creek should have just enough development to have a vibrant community, while maintaining the small down home feel that you experience while on property there.
PICK OF THE WEEK
If you are looking for a true mountain experience at an incredible value just outside of Truckee, you should look into the Grizzly Ranch Golf Club. Located within a million acres of national and state forestlands the Grizzly Ranch is just down the road from Lake Davis and numerous fishing streams and high alpine lakes in the Feather River region known as the “Lost Sierra”. Time seems to stand still in the Sierra Valley and I often frequent the Lakes Basin highway with world class mountain biking, hiking and numerous alpine lakes set at the base of the ever imposing Sierra Buttes. Blairsden and Graeagle are among my favorite towns to visit with their quaint and charming feel, absent of crowds and congestion. There is currently a Homesite Inventory Auction that ends on October 17th where you will find golf, valley and mountain view properties with opening bids starting as low at $20,000.
