Greetings –

As the first snow of the season falls, the Tahoe Truckee community is abuzz with anticipation of the winter to come. There have been many accounts of skiers hiking in the Carson Range near Mt. Rose where 1 to 3 feet of snow fell and the die hards were out to kick off the ski season. Mt. Rose has announced an opening day of October 31st. for some Halloween skiing. Below 8,000 ft the southern slopes have incredible hiking and mountain biking conditions and you can still get 18 holes of golf in at Gray’s Crossing as well with their last day of the season coming up this Sunday the 23rd.

EVENTS
Another benefit to living in such an amazing town is the abundance of community events that bring the entire family together. One of my favorites to take my boys to is 8th Annual Big Truck Day this Saturday October 22nd from 11am to 2pm at the Town Corporation Yard on Stockrest Springs Road. If you’ve got a little one that’s into fire trucks, tractors, police cars, helicopters, or any other mode of transportation…bring them for a fantastic adventure! Kids are able to get in and explore all of the trucks and equipment on display. My boys’ personal favorites are the fire trucks…I prefer the snow cats. This is a free event and open to all ages. Hope to see you there!

PICK OF THE WEEK
With snow and skiing on my mind I look to the vibrant Village of Northstar as the excitement builds in anticipation of the upcoming ski season. Located just steps from the Gondola, Big Horn 207 is one of the biggest 1 bedrooms in the Village. With a deck larger than most two bedrooms have, you will enjoy the the Village action after a day on the slopes. At 979 sq. ft. with a 1/2 bath for guests, this 1 bedroom lives larger than expected. Heated underground parking and ski storage add to the convenience of Village life:Click Here to View Listings
