The first dusting of snow has graced the top of the Peaks up at Mt Rose Ski Tahoe and the crisp evenings and mild days has everyone talking about the upcoming winter. I went into my local ski shop at The BackCountry just to say hi and see the new skis on the wall to get excited about the upcoming ski season. I of course had to grab a copy of Backcountry magazine which kept me up late last night flipping through the pages with anticipation of another big winter of deep powder.
With the winter season on the horizon, we have currently reached the fall rush of sales that we see in the months of September and October for real estate closings in our region. Consumers have been scouring these resort communities all summer and are now making their decisions to be ready for the upcoming holidays. As reported a few weeks ago, August saw over 200 residential transactions which was easily the strongest month of 2017 and the second largest ever for the region by transaction volume. With over 100 residential transactions already in the books for September and over 200 pending in the region, September looks to be equally as strong and round out a solid third quarter.
