Greetings –
We have officially entered the off season, but there are still plenty of fun events and activities in and around town to enjoy. Many of the locals refer to this as the “mud season” but what that translates to is great dirt to enjoy as the trails are melting out quickly and the hiking, mountain biking and trail running are exceptionally good at low elevations. The golf courses are mowing greens all around town and many of them will be opening in the next few weeks.
ACTIVITIES
My four year old has transitioned from the strider to the pedal bike and wants to permanently live at the Truckee Bike Park. This means that I can also relive my youth and pretend to be a kid again hitting the fun jumps and bumps with all walks of life from two year olds to us parents that think we still have it… The Bike Park is a non-profit, volunteer-supported facility designed for all ability levels. There is no charge to use the Bike Park and it is a perfect spot to set up for the day and have a picnic or BBQ.
Speaking of the Truckee Bike Park, Bar of America is hosting a buffet dinner tonight with all proceeds benefiting the Bike Park. The event will kick off at 5pm with Groove Foundry playing live music. The bike park still has 2 phases of further trails to be built as well as a high quality of control to maintain and keep the terrain safe and fun. If you are not able to attend the event, but would still like to donate, you can log onto www.truckee bike park.org
PICK OF THE WEEK
Just up the road from the bike park is the community of Gray’s Crossing that has been very popular the last few years and it continues to thrive. Enjoy new construction in the Woods with a blend of mountain elements and contemporary finishes backing to open space and the trail system near the 7th hole of the championship golf course. The open plan has a private upstairs master with views to the Carson Range and bonus room just off main living area that is great for entertaining. You will enjoy the east to southern exposure on the front deck and living spaces and the 3 car garage is a nice size to store all of those Tahoe toys with a big mud/laundry room welcoming you home from all your adventures: Click Here to View Listing
I hope to see you up enjoying the trails and Truckee Bike Park this weekend and the remaining few days of skiing at Squaw Valley. Don’t hesitate to call if you or any friends would like to view properties. I appreciate your referrals!
Best,
Shane
