Greetings –
In 2013 Tahoe Mountain Realty spoke of a new day at Gray’s Crossing and the tide has been rising ever since. That March the community received an important boost when LDK Capital, respected developers from Sacramento, purchased 81 of the 377 homesites from the French bank Societe Generale. LDK Capital, in cooperation with the HOA, invested money in marketing and new improvements to the community as well as developing a website and Tuesday concert series for owners, prospects and the general public to come together and enjoy the community. Tahoe Mountain Realty went on to sell out the 81 homesites in just 18 months and the construction began.
If you are not familiar with Gray’s it is an open sunny environment set on 700 acres of secluded forest, filled with Lodge Pole and Jeffrey Pine trees. With over 418 acres of dedicated open space, there is plenty of elbow room to enjoy all that nature has to offer. The Jacobsen/Hardy designed golf course and the community seem as if they were dropped down from the sky to preserve the natural setting as much as possible. The golf course earned Audubon International’s Gold Certified Signature Sanctuary recognition for its environmentally sound practices. Located just to the east and north of downtown Truckee by 1/4 mile, there is much less snow to deal with and the springtime activities kick off a little earlier than other communities around town that tend to hold snow longer. I believe the non-gated feel of Gray’s Crossing is one of its greatest attributes. It makes the community feel welcoming as well as vibrant. Gray’s welcomes the public to enjoy one of my favorite summertime restaurants – PJ’s Bar & Grill. It is an open-air dining facility with a beautiful terrace and fire pit, with views looking down the 18th golf hole and the Carson Range. The mountains are backlit with an Alpenglow at dusk as children enjoy running and playing on the event lawn. When the temperature cools, the soft seating fills up around the fire pit and funny, crazy stories waft in the air as if you were in the middle of the woods on a camping trip. Did I also mention that it is one of the coolest places to catch a sports game? The rolled-steel bar top makes you want to come in on a beautiful summer day and cozy up to a cold one while the breeze cools you off.
Gray’s truly has all of the great components of a Truckee mountain community wrapped into one. There are incredible mountain views in a rolling meadow setting with plenty of sunshine, trees and dedicated open space.
Below are some numbers that speak to the success of Gray’s Crossing with single family home sales in the last four years:
2013 Gray’s Crossing 2014

2015 Gray’s Crossing 2016
7 Total Transactions 18

With fresh new inventory and affordable amenities, Gray’s has found it’s stride. I look forward to reporting on Q4 sales as we are in the typical surge for buyers making purchasing decisions in anticipation of the winter season to come.
