After a week of sunshine we will be receiving another storm to refresh the ski slopes and sledding hills just in time to enjoy this weekend. I recently saw a stat in the Sierra Sun showing that state water watchers found 136% of the long-term average water content in the Sierra snowpack compared to 33% this time last year. The snow has been an incredible boost to the economy in Truckee/Tahoe and we hope to stay in this pattern into February with the well documented “Miracle March” on the horizon that has produced a lot of snow in past EL NINO years.

Mountainside at Northstar just put Stellar Residence #1 (located on the slopes near the Ritz Carlton) under contract at $3.1M and has been very busy with tours of their slope side community. The total dollar volume for pending and sold properties in the last 30 days in Mountainside is over 70% ($7,675,000) of total sales for all of 2015 ($10,711,000) in that community. If you look at sales from the start of ski season in December of 2015 there has been a total dollar volume of $10,330,000 sold/pending. If you isolate the sales in 2015 between January 1st and November 30th, the total dollar volume was $6,766,000.
