Memorial weekend is the kickoff to summer activities in Tahoe and we typically see a flood of new properties come on the MLS at this time. The inventory has been lean this winter so we are looking forward to many new listings hitting the market as buyers are engaged and excited to enjoy the Truckee/Tahoe lifestyle.
The spring weather has been mild with rain showers and the trail conditions for hikers and bikers are as good as it gets. The golf courses are green and in full swing so you just need to time your activities around any possible thunder showers for the day. I welcome these conditions as it will be very dry and sunny for the rest of summer real soon.
Activities/Events:The Little Big
On Saturday, May 26th the Truckee Bike Park is hosting The Little Big. This is a ridestyle event for all ages from very young children on Striders to adults with dirt jumpers or mountain bikes, and everything in between. There will be clinics for ladies’ and kids as well as a jump jam and dual slalom race for amateurs and pros. There will also be a kids Strider Pumptrack Jam that my boys are very excited about. This event is great for the entire family and such a fun part of our growing community. The boys wanted to go out and practice yesterday to be ready. Truckee Home & Building Show
The Truckee High School will be the host site for the Truckee Home & Building Show this Saturday and Sunday, May 26th and 27th from 10am to 5pm. There will be over 150 demonstrations and displays where you will find everything you need to build, remodel, landscape and decorate your mountain home. You will be able to learn about green building practices and sustainable living concepts, and there will also be information on all of the great recreation activities to enjoy in Truckee/Tahoe. They will also have a section on gardening in the Sierras which I am excited to learn about.
