Greetings –

We are in the heart of event season in Truckee/Tahoe and be sure to catch some of the details below for some fun in the mountains.

Events:
The Truckee/Tahoe area is synonymous with outdoor adventure. Less well known, but equally impressive, are the plethora of events showcasing the arts. Two such events are taking place this week on Tahoe’s East Shore. If you have yet to experience the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, it is a must. Grab a glass of wine and appetizer before the show and take in the beautiful Sand Harbor vistas, then settle in with your toes in the sand and enjoy first class entertainment as the sun sets behind the stage. Show times are at 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday through August 23rd and the featured plays are “Romeo and Juliet” and “The Fantasticks.” Another event that incorporates Tahoe’s breathtaking scenery into their stage is the Lake Tahoe Music Festival. This 20-piece Academy Orchestra performs a 5-day series starting August 18th. Shows will be performed in various locations around Truckee/Tahoe including Tahoma, Homewood, Tahoe City, and Schaffer’s Mill. You’re welcome to bring your own selection of food and beverages.

Speaking of art, the Lake Tahoe Concourse d’Elegance will again be returning to Obexters in Homewood this coming weekend. A short and beautiful drive along the West Shore will lead you to some of the most elegant and historic boats in the world. Aside from the main attraction, there is a Wine Village featuring 40 wineries, live music, and a variety of food to suit every palate.
