If you have been following any of the weather blogs for Tahoe you have probably heard about the big storm building in the Pacific and heading for California. NOAA has a great video on this massive storm and predicts that it will get progressively cooler next week with the lighter snow falling on top of the heavier stuff which makes for fun ski conditions as you have a supportable base. Some of the forecasts are calling for up to 5-10 feet of snow through the end of next week – “Miracle March” just might be getting started… Here is a great video from NOAA detailing the timing of this weather event: TAHOE STORM VIDEO

The event planners nailed the timing of the 35th anniversary of the North Lake Tahoe SnowFest with opening ceremonies starting tonight at 5pm at Gar Woods in Carnelian Bay. There will be fun events throughout North Tahoe and Truckee running through Sunday March 13th. Here is a link to those events on the SnowFest Calendar

PICK OF THE WEEK:
This past week I have been researching the community of Lahontan and taking a good look at the inventory on the market. I have often spoken about Lahontan being one of the best values for resort communities in our area and with the recent $1.2M expansion and amenity improvements they are keeping pace with some of the newer developments that are catering to families while maintaining the nostalgic feel of Tahoe for which they are known. This is all being done within Lahontan’s budget and with no assessments to the members.

10234 Dick Barter was just recently reduced by $300K down to $1,995,000. This home is located on the 18th tee just walking distance from the amenity core with open space to the north west and a homesite available for sale next door to the south east for $350,000. The open concept with living room and kitchen is very refreshing and views from the kitchen windows of the 17th hole and Carson Range are incredible. Covered outdoor living takes advantage of the views down the 18th fairway and also offers privacy in the winter time when you can snowshoe or XC ski over to the Lodge. This is a must see in Lahontan and especially at this price range:Click Here to View Listings

If you are interested in building exactly what you want, lot 441 just came to market at a very reasonable price of $249,000. This level homesite offers greenbelt privacy with mature trees and sunny forest views. It is a short walk over to Camp Lahontan with pool, kids activities, food, tennis and outdoor event lawn for activities all summer. The cul-de-sac is perfect living for families seeking privacy with easy proximity to amenities. Here is a link to the listing:Click Here to View Listings
