If you live in the Bay Area this might be the perfect weekend to escape the Super Bowl traffic and come up to Tahoe for the great ski conditions and spring like weather in the forecast. Squaw Valley and Northstar have both received around 19” of new snow in the last 7 days and temperatures this weekend should reach close to 50 degrees. This equals perfect travel conditions on the roads and fun spring like weather for the whole family to enjoy.

Squaw Valley’s KT Base Bar: Experience Super Bowl Sunday is at Squaw Valley’s KT Base Bar where they will be hosting the biggest bash in the Sierra’s! Soak in the whole game on a huge16-foot by 21-foot 49-panel “Diamond Vision” screen. Festivities are planned throughout the day including giveaways and promotions.

Northstar Resort has the game going on at multiple locations. So get a few runs in and then head to your favorite hot spot to enjoy the game. TC’s Pub: Watch the game on 9 flat screen TVs. Hang out after the game for a half rack of slow roasted BBQ Ribs and a pint of Gordon Biersch WinterBock for just $16! Lodge at Big Springs: Has 3 flat screen TVs on the upper level of the Lodge. Blue Coyote Bar & Grill: Join the locals at Blue Coyote’s full bar with 13 beers on tap. Super Bowl XLVII will be shown on their 18 flat screen TVs and there is an arcade for the kids. Order up delicious pizza, burgers, sandwiches, fresh salads and awesome wings.
Bar of America: One of my favorite spots in Truckee to watch sporting events. There are two big TV’s behind the bar and a great bar menu to order small plates to share. My favorite item on the menu is the blackened fish tacos.
